I'm normally a lover of all things old and crumbling and dilapidating. But when it comes to people and their stories - those I want to keep alive and fresh and new. When I started researching my own family tree 15 years ago, I noticed that no one was writing down the details shared at family gatherings. The small nuances that bring a person alive. So I began documenting them and, through these stories of love and pain and orneriness, it continues to remind me that people have been people for a very long time. From the ancestors that have gone before us to the generations coming after, we will always share that same humanness.
